Year 5/Dosbarth bump

Croeso I’r Dosbarth 5

We are now well into our final term. It’s summer, hooray! We have lots of fun activities planned. Our whole school theme for this term is ‘Summer’.

We have spent some time at our newly refurbished pond area. We love observing the wildlife there. We have worked with our talented caretaker, Mr Upham, to design and build some bug hotels (using wood and real tools) to attract more minibeasts to the pond.

We have a beautiful butterfly garden in our classroom and we have learnt about the metamorphosis cycle of caterpillars. We all really enjoyed talking about the caterpillars and how they will change over the next few weeks.

We are hoping to spend more time outside as the weather gets warmer so please make sure your child is wearing appropriate clothes for this. PE will be on a Thursday so please make sure you have your PE kit on this day (it will probably be outside, weather dependant).

After half term, year 5 will be going swimming. Further information to follow about what your child will need.

Our class trip has been booked to Barry Island after half term, which will be lots of fun (letters have been sent home).

We are also excited to meet the Children’s Poet Laureate at the EVI on May 19th.

Thank you for your continued support.

Diolch yn fawr,

Miss Meadows and Mr Davies
