Croeso i'r Dosbarth 2!

Welcome to Year 2 with Miss Jones, supported by our wonderful teaching assistants, Mrs Knapp and Miss Fry.

This year, we are beginning with our exciting ‘All About Me’ learning, getting to know ourselves, our identities, our interests and the people and experiences that make us unique. This will lead us towards creating our own autobiographies, giving the children opportunities to share their stories, memories and experiences in their own words.
Our classroom is rooted in a Froebelian approach, where we value learning through play, real-life experiences, creativity and meaningful relationships. We believe children learn best when they are given time, space and freedom to explore their ideas and follow their interests.

Throughout the year, we will embrace practical and creative experiences, including sewing, clay, cooking and woodwork. These experiences allow children to develop confidence, resilience, problem-solving skills and a real sense of achievement.
We strive to nurture independent and autonomous learners, encouraging the children to make choices, take responsibility for their learning and develop confidence in their own abilities.

Most importantly, our classroom is a calm, nurturing and welcoming environment, where every child is valued, listened to and supported to be themselves. We want Year 2 to be a place where children feel safe to explore, make mistakes, ask questions, be curious and grow.

We are looking forward to a wonderful year of learning, creating, discovering and growing together.
