New Curriculum 2022

Religious Education is at the heart of the school's mission.  As a Roman Catholic School, we put great emphasis on celebrating the work of God our Father in our lives, through the example of Jesus Christ.  We try to live the message that Jesus gives to us "Love one another as I have loved you."

The school uses the "Come and See" RE programme approved by the Church for use in schools in England and Wales.  The scheme is taught through themes for each year group. In mixed age groups topics will be taught on a rotation.

Children are encouraged to talk and reflect about their faith and learn about the faith of the Church.

Active links between home, school and parish are encouraged. Fr. Edmund Neizer, the Parish Priest, visits the school and says Mass every other Thursday. Our RE link Governor is Fr Kevin Paine, Dean of the Heads of the Valleys. We have been supported by the RE Director of the Archdiocese, the Rev Bernard Sixtus.

Children are reminded of their responsibility as members of the church community and we encourage parents to become involved in the life of their parish.  Faith begins at home!

The children received the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Holy Eucharist in June 2014.  There will be preparation starting in February for the new candidates for 2015.

This means a considerable commitment on behalf of the parents. The school aims to support the parents in making this commitment.

This commitment is for life. Children are prepared for these Sacraments by the Parish Priest, the Headteacher and teachers at the school.

We hope you will support the Catholic activities organised by school and visit the All Saints Catholic Church which is in town.

  • The new Curriculum for Wales
The Curriculum for Wales guidance is a clear statement of what is important in delivering a broad and balanced education at All Saints. The four purposes are the shared vision and aspiration for every child and young person. In fulfilling these, we set high expectations for all, promote individual and national well-being, tackle ignorance and misinformation, and encourage critical engagement. Our curriculum is everything a child experiences in pursuit of the four purposes. It is not simply what we teach, but how we teach and crucially, why we teach it. Curriculum for Wales Summary Statement for All Saints Catholic Primary. We are working together in our Ebbw Fawr cluster of schools, to further develop our curriculum. Our curriculum design and delivery through innovative and collaborative planning, meets the needs of the required mandatory elements beginning with the four purposes and incorporating Catholic RSE and RECD requirements.
