We have a fantastic year ahead of us, packed with exciting learning, new challenges and plenty of opportunities to get creative!

📚 Our Class Story – Future Friend

This term, we’ll be reading the brilliant Future Friend. We’ll explore the characters, themes and futuristic world of the story while developing all the skills we need to plan and write our very own science-fiction stories!

🎨 Learning by Doing

We’ll be getting hands-on in our Occupational Areas, with lots of exciting activities linked to our class story. We’ll be trying our hand at art, cooking, woodwork, STEM and sewing, giving us opportunities to design, create, experiment, build and solve problems.

➗ Becoming Brilliant Mathematicians

This year, we’re introducing Primed for Success, an exciting approach to Maths that will challenge us to think for ourselves. We’ll be developing our problem-solving skills, independence, resilience and confidence as mathematicians.

💻 Staying Safe Online

We’ll be exploring how to stay safe, happy and responsible online. We’ll then put our speaking and listening skills into action by creating and delivering presentations explaining why online safety is so important.

🏊 Healthy Bodies, Healthy Minds

We’ll be heading to the pool to swim and exploring lots of different ways to look after our physical health, mental health and wellbeing. We want Year 5 to be a place where everyone feels happy, healthy, confident and ready to learn.

🚀 A Brilliant Year Ahead!

Most importantly, Year 5 is going to be about trying new things, challenging ourselves, becoming more independent, learning from our mistakes and having plenty of fun along the way.

It’s going to be a cracking year. Let’s make it one to remember!
