A very warm welcome to Year 1 at All Saints CPS. We are delighted to be part of this journey with your child and look forward to working in partnership with families throughout the year. Our Year 1 team includes Ms Meadows, Mrs Rees, Miss Britton and Miss Davies, who are committed to creating a happy, nurturing and inspiring environment where every child feels safe, valued and ready to flourish.

Year 1 is rooted in hands‑on, multi‑sensory learning, placing each child at the centre of their experience as they explore what it means to be part of the Catholic family, develop early phonological awareness through Monster Phonics, secure their understanding of numbers to 20, and strengthen speaking, listening and collaboration skills. Children learn through rich practical opportunities including block play, clay work, sewing, woodwork and imaginative role-play, alongside wellbeing learning such as understanding how our brain helps us think, feel and learn.

Autumn Term in Year 1 begins with our All About Me focus, helping children explore what makes them special and unique through these rich, hands‑on, multi‑sensory experiences. We build strong classroom friendships by learning and playing together, sharing our stories, and celebrating the qualities that make each child part of our school family. Throughout the term, children enjoy stories and songs that support language development, confidence and joy in learning, while nurturing a warm, welcoming environment where every child feels known, valued and connected.
